Improving Education

Tracy McCreery believes every child deserves a world class public education. Tracy has worked to fully fund our public schools, reduce class sizes, and increase teacher pay.

Tracy has:

Fought for and passed an additional $330 million for school transportation to fully fund our school transportation system since 1991.
Fought to fund our schools by fully funding our Foundation Formula when most politicians wanted to strip funding from our public schools.
Increased Teacher pay from $25,000 to $38,000 while fighting for a higher starting salary.
Revitalized a career ladder where teachers can earn additional compensation based upon the number of hours of work that is done outside of contracted time.

Consumer Protection, Advocacy, and Freedom

Tracy McCreery has always been an advocate for families and consumers.She believes every Missourian should have the freedom and information we need to make our own decisions without being taken advantage of. As your Senator, Tracy insisted on utility consumer protections including increasing the Hot or Cold Weather Rule from 24 to 72 hours and created a cap on residential PISA rate charges.

Tracy has:

Fought against utility rate increases.
Led a bipartisan effort to eliminate tax subsidies for Stan Kroenke.
Sponsored the COOL Act (Country of Origin Labeling Act) so we knew what country our meat is from.
Led the charge for the ‘Right to Repair’ which allows you to fix your smartphones and electronics instead of the big tech companies telling you who you can choose to repair your device.
Sponsored legislation against restricted tickets which prohibits the purchaser of tickets from reselling or transferring tickets that they had bought.
Sponsored the Sewer Lateral Fee Fairness Bill which would ensure people in parts of St. Louis County are not being overcharged for sewer lateral insurance.
Sponsored a tax credit bill that allowed those who choose to purchase an electric vehicle to be eligible for a tax credit.
Sponsored a bill to ban surprise medical billing.

Affordable and Accessible Healthcare

Tracy McCreery believes all Missourians deserve access to quality healthcare and is a leading advocate for Medicaid expansion in Missouri. Tracy stood up to politicians trying to cut funding for health care—money that would expand local care, keep hospitals open, and create good-paying healthcare jobs.

Tracy has:

Led the charge and won to fully fund MO HealthNet (Medicaid) in 2022.
Co-created the “Earned Family and Medical Leave Act” which provides family and medical leave to Missourians.
Passed long-acting reversible contraception transfer reform which reduces government waste and allows for inventory to be held by prescribers for same-day insertion.
Sponsored a bill to ban surprise medical billing.
Led the charge on prescribing contraceptives for 13 months to help patients avoid a lapse before they can see prescriber again.
Sponsored modernization of Missouri’s outdated and stigmatizing HIV laws.
Sponsored the ban on so-called conversion therapy for LGBTQ+ kids.
Serves on the MO HealthNet Oversight Committee as a liaison between the legislature and the Medicaid program.
Passed legislation to reduce barriers for first responders when administering care to victims of opioid overdose.
Passed legislation that added proceeds from the opioid settlements with pharmacies to the Opioid Addiction Treatment and Recovery Fund.
Designated the first Saturday of October as “Breast Cancer Awareness Day.”

Protecting Our Most Vulnerable

From her time as a community volunteer and now a legislator, Tracy McCreery has always fought for those who don’t have powerful lobbyists.

Tracy has:

Sponsored a bill that would close the deadly domestic violence loophole created when Missouri became a constitutional carry state.
Sponsored the Missouri Nondiscrimination Act (MONA) which bans employers from firing someone, denying housing, or refusing basic services because they are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Led the charge to limit foreign corporate ownership of agricultural land.
Sponsored a bill to address confidentiality for human trafficking survivors.
Passed $105 MILLION to the FY 2023 budget to provide essential services for Missourians.
Sponsored payday loan reform to reduce interest to 36% from 400+%.
Created the Stop Cyberstalking and Harassment Task Force, which aims to prevent such crimes and support survivors.
Raised the legal age of marriage in Missouri to 18 years of age.

Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform

Tracy McCreery works with Republicans and Democrats to improve public safety and pass meaningful criminal justice reform.

Tracy has:

Passed an Anti-Shackling Law that bans women from being shackled while pregnant or giving birth.
Advocated and passed a law to assure prison nurseries will allow a mother to have more time with their baby.
Passed funding to allow inmates to have access to menstrual hygiene products.
Sponsored the Geriatric Parole Bill which specifies that any incarcerated offender 70 years of age or older who has no prior felony conviction of a violent nature will receive a parole hearing.
Passed Valentine’s Law, legislation that makes it a felony to flee from police. Valentine’s Law is named in honor of the late St. Louis County Police Detective Antonio Valentine, who was killed in a crash while responding to assist other officers.
